About Me

SAMBA PATHAK (he/him/his) is a proud Nepali-American artist, marketer, producer, and award-winning stage manager in the DC metropolitan area. Pathak advocates for the intersection of the arts, community engagement, and effective project management. Pathak currently serves as the Program Manager and Interim Lab Manager in the College of Public Health at George Mason University. With a profound background in theater, Samba understands the transformative power of storytelling and the arts in fostering connections within communities, which also remains an essential trait in the healthcare field, particularly in areas of student engagement and previous COVID-19 response initiatives.

 

In his current role, Pathak spearheads project management and operational support for various grant projects, monitoring a grant portfolio of over five million dollars. However, beyond the logistical aspects, Pathak profoundly values the role of arts in building community resilience. He believes in integrating artistic practices into public health initiatives, recognizing the inherent capacity of theater and other creative mediums. His commitment extends to leading administrative operations at the Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics and Population Health Center, where he enhances administrative processes and amplifies marketing outreach to patients and community partners.

 

Previously, Pathak worked extensively in Marketing and PR for creative enterprises. He was the Director of Marketing, PR, and Communications for companies specializing in product merchandising. In this role, he led marketing teams, oversaw department budgeting, and executed communication strategies to communicate with internal partners and external consumers. Pathak also worked as a Marketing/Publicity Manager and Producer for theater companies in the Washington DC metropolitan area. His primary focus was working on brand awareness, marketing campaigns for individualized musical productions, and data analytics management. He continues to work on freelance projects to support theatrical innovation and brand development. Working as a stage manager, past credits include DC AREA: DC Capital Fringe: The Road to the End (Stage Manager), NextStop Theatre: In the Heights (Sub ASM), Ordinary Days (Sub ASM), The Mountaintop (Projections Design). EDUCATIONAL: Stage Management: The Hunchback of Seville, The Boy Detective Fails, Eurydice, Midsummer Rekindled.
